Lee Taal for the last four years has represented Victoria AM at the Hospitality Awards and sent out all of our press releases. Lee has agreed to continue on with this role. Thank you, Lee.
I would like to thank Suzan Lagrove for her dedication to Victoria AM in having stayed for two terms. I value her assistance now in this new position for me. Also Norman Bruce has served as the director of Speakers and Venues for the last two years and we would like to thank him for a job well done. I look forward to working with our new board during this exciting 25th Anniversary Year. I encourage all members to get involved. We will be having two anniversary celebrations the first will be the 25th Anniversary Breakfast at the Union Club on Friday June 12, 2009. One week later, Friday June 19, at Ogden Point, the Tommy Mayne bronze statue, a Salute to the Tradition of Town Criers, sculpted by Armando Barbon will be unveiled.

It is a way we can all stay connected. One past member, Karen Bamford, has already joined along with several other current members. This is what Victoria A.M. is also about, a community of people coming together and supporting one another.
As you can see by the board listing the positions of Vice President, Secretary, and Communications are currently not filled. The stronger board we can build, the stronger Association we have going into the future. If you would like to be appointed to the board, please contact me.
If you have any ideas to contribute as to what you would like to see at our anniversary breakfast??, unveiling of the statue?? Anything else, I would like to hear them!
Currently we have the night market making a return visit for the evening of the unveiling. An invitation has been put in the Royal Victoria Yacht club newsletter to ask if any sailors are interested in doing a sail past. This invitation is open to any sailors. Armando Barbon will honour us with a song or two. If anyone has any suggestions for low to zero dollar entertainment, again, please contact me.
Have a wonderful week and hope to see you all at breakfast on April 3 at the Legislature Dining Room where Greg McAllister from King Brothers will be our guest speaker and Norman Bruce will be member spotlight.
Please RSVP to the office and remember to bring picture ID for security reasons.
Let me finish with a personal note: I had my follow-up visit with my cancer surgeon and I have been given a clean bill of health and I am exited (ready) (able) to serve Victoria AM as President.
